Nice heater!
Installed about 3 months ago.It is working nicely and keeps my 2 1/2 car freestanding garage warm. I have 6 inch insulated walls. Ran 1/2 inch CSST gas line and connected heater to Honeywell programmable thermostat. No issues with installation. Used double wall stainless steel venting through the wall with a thimble which was fairly expensive (about $100). I have a 400 sq. ft. apartment above the garage and am able to heat it with just a small space heater. This morning was -12 degrees in northern Indiana and heater is doing its job. I keep the temp at 55 degrees and turn up to 60 when working in the garage. It takes about 10 - 15 minutes to increase from 55 to 60.

Warm workspace
Everything you would want from a garage heater. Easy to install, low profile, and not loud at all especially compared to Mr. Heater Maxx. Modine costs more but it is far less noise. Used B vent from Menards which ran about an extra $100. Added solid heat to my garage.

Stop reading reviews, this is the heater you want !!
This heater works awesome !! I installed it myself in about 4 hours including cutting in a vent through the outside wall, but the gas line, power and thermostat wire were already roughed in from when I finished the garage in last summer, so I didn't have to run them while installing this heater. I had to use 1 1/2" slotted angle braces to hang it from the ceiling because I wanted it angled and mounted in the corner of my garage. The mounting holes in the heater's hanging brackets are not wide enough to mount it angled without putting additional blocking in the ceiling between standard 24" OC trusses, or using slotted angle braces like I did. I pulled a homeowner installation mechanical permit which added another $65.00 to the cost. I know a lot of people install them without a permit, but if something goes wrong and my garage burns down I don't want my insurance company to have ANY reason to try and get out of taking care of it. $65 is cheap peace of mind in my book and working with the inspector was very easy. I used 3" double wall B vent pipe and fittings sourced locally which are easy to work with and attach to this heater. I do think it's time for Modine to replace the ugly green/ grey color in favor of a more modern/ pleasing one like white, black or silver. They make a limited edition one that is black but it costs a lot more and I couldn't find it on Amazon. This thing looks like it was coated in prison colors lol !! I have a nice bright finished 3 car garage and this thing heats it up fast !! It just looks ugly. I am taking mine apart this spring once I don't need it anymore and having it powder coated white. The inspector and I both like its compact size and quiet operation. I used an Emersen UP310 programmable thermostat also from Amazon which works great and adds a fan only function which is nice if you want to circulate air without the heat on. I mounted the thermostat on a short partition wall shielded from the heaters air flow 12' away. It works great and keeps the heater from short cycling. My garage is properly insulated and drywalled and this heater can handle our Northern Idaho winter with ease, taking it from low 30's to low 60's in the garage in 15 to 20 minutes !! Once warmed up, it runs once an hour or so to keep the temp where I set it. What a difference !! Other than the cosmetics, this thing is great and I highly recommend it !! I only wish I had bought one sooner !!

So far this heater has been quite amazing. We then out in that country
Let me start off by saying. But I have an oversized three car garage. So far this heater has been quite amazing. We then out in that country, in a very rural area. So it can get extremely cold at times. I keep the thermostat set at 50° at night. Whenever I want to use the garage, I set the thermostat to around 65° it takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes to reach this temperature. the instructions included are pretty straightforward. It took my dad and I only about 2 hours to install from start to finish. As soon as I get a chance I will pose some photos.

Modine quality
I contacted the seller and was quickly helped by Sean. I needed a LP conversion kit which he put in the packing box for me. Super satisfied with this seller’s service!

Installation and Operation Review
I had this 45,000 BTU overhead heater professionally installed by a heat and air company in my four car (1,000 sq ft) garage with foam installation. I'm waiting for the gas company to install a gas line and meter. Delivery of the heater was very timely and there was only very minor damage. I'm anticipating that it will more than do the job. Modine might put on the outside packaging that the installation manual is on the inside of the unit. Update: The unit was put on-line this week after the gas meter was installed, and it's performing beautifully! One day when is was 34 degrees outside, the unit kept the garage a warm and toasty 75 degrees.

Would Recommend This Unit
Wow, what a heater. I have a 22 x 22 garage with a 10 ft high ceiling. This unit makes short work out of heating it. I might add my garage is well insulated. This unit will bring up the temperature from 50 to 70 degrees in about 10 minutes. Installation was easy. I know a few other people with these heaters and they are very happy also.

Great garage heater
Was sceptical at first. This little heater warms my garage quickly. A single 20lb propane tank last about a week keeping the garage at 55. The propane goes a little bit quicker the warmer you want temperature. Now you will have to contact seller if you want propane model. Also this unit needs venting. I suggest a side vent rather than a roof vent that can eventually leak.

Warm!
Great heater, arrived timely. Took awhile for us to get it installed, many vendors in town are vary busy. So far our dog loves it. He stays in the garage most of the time. It’s not been too cold yet here in Idaho. It is keeping the garage at a very nice temperature to keep us from having to get in a freezing car. BTW the garage is 1200 sq ft.

Terrific garage heater!
I installed this in the fall and it has been wonderful all winter! It's high-quality and reliable, and kept my garage above freezing all winter, even at -15 outdoor temp. I have a detached garage (AKA "the man-cave") and this year has been much more enjoyable to work in a "sweatshirt" environment instead of heavy coveralls. It's efficient and cost less to operate than propane tanks for the space-heater I used before. It's terrific not worrying about open flames like I had with the glow-heaters in the garage. In the future it will be a "value-added" feature for selling the house, "heated garage." I'm extremely happy with it.

This 45000 BTU heater heats my 2.5 space garage perfectly.
I live in Colorado and this 45000 BTU heater heats my 2 and a half space garage in the winter from 30 degrees to 70 quickly and efficiently taking only about 30-40 minutes. And once heated, doesn't run very long at a time to keep it that way. To be fair, 2 sides and the ceiling of this garage do face inside walls which helps, but even at that it gets cold in there, and does have a 2 car garage door and a side door that goes outside. When I bought this, I was skeptical that It would be big enough and almost ordered the 60000 BTU unit, but after getting this one up and using it through December and January, I could not be happier with it's performance.

Quick and seamless transaction. Product was as described and works perfectly
Was packaged very well.....both interior and exterior. Installer reported no issues with the unit and it works great. We are using it for a garage workshop and it heats it up in a hurry.

last one worked for 20 years
i installed my last unit 20 years ago, it retired itself, ordered the same one, put it in, and my office is warm again, excellent machine. Nothing works for 20 years in a row anymore, besides me.

Great heater!
We've had this a couple of years now. It's great when the temperature is freezing out and you want to work in the garage. Or, if you want to warm up your car a little, only done that a couple of times with sub-zero temperatures.

Impressive for the cost.
works better than expected. Its only 80% so 20% of your heating costs go out the chimney is all. I knew that before I purchased it. Also, I converted it from NG to LP and that went very well. It does what they say, so I am impressed.

Great value, but a little louder than expected and definitely needs professional installation
Great value, but a little louder than expected and definitely needs professional installation - unless you have all the tools and are proficient with live gas lines, don't attempt a self-install.

We had a furnace raiseing. Almost the whole family was there.
We wore the old modine furnace out after only 25 years. Found out the btus it used to have and started looking. We found some a little easier to buy. However the reviews made those seem like trouble. Living in the sticks dependability means something. We ordered from Amazon and they said okay. This was the most expensive purchase and the heaviest we have ever done with them. The debit card was billed when they shipped. Prime is a good deal. Ordered a thermostat. When it all arrived it arrived on time and in good shape. My Elder Son and my Son in law had it up. in short order. Only three trips to town for parts. Lag bolts and 4inch to 3 inch conversion to tie in to the existing flue and a few feet of new pipe. A roll of wire for the thermostat. The wife and Daughter made barbeque. Took 15 minutes to cook off the factory coating. Its been so hot here it then sat there for over a week before it came on again. It is quieter than the old one. My Grandson thinks the box it came in is a lot of fun. We will feel safe at night and will be warm in the woodshop. Thanks everybody!

Great heater!
I mounted this in my garage nearly two months ago and just now got the gas line run to it. This heater raised the temp in my garage from 42 degrees to 65 degrees in about fifteen minutes. I have a two and a half car garage, about 90% insulated. I have no doubt this heater will do fine, even in the coldest of weather here in Ohio. Mounting it to the rafters (alone) was very tricky, and wiring the new programmable thermostat was a bit confusing, but all is good now. This is something I should have done five years ago when I built the garage, instead of using VERY expensive electric heaters. Oh yeah, it,'s very quite too. No rattles or loud noises. NICE!
